Our Alumni

Greater Rochester PLTI Alumni

PLTI alumni hold active roles at decision-making tables throughout the Greater Rochester region, including school boards, city councils, county and state legislatures, parent groups, and community-based organizations.

Since Greater Rochester PLTI began in 2012, hundreds of alumni have graduated. These individuals honed their civic knowledge, increased their civic engagement, and ultimately became more active participants in the communities in which they live. PLTI alumni are well versed in public policy and issues affecting children. They are effective collaborators, and work individually, in small groups, and as a full group to effect change for children in Greater Rochester.

Alumni Programs:

Ongoing Leadership Development for Our Alumni Parent Leaders

Our parents can participate in development activities based on their needs and interests. Parent leaders also participate in community events and projects where they can practice their facilitation, presentation or program development skills with PLTI staff and community partners.

Community Impact Support for Our Alumni Parent Leaders.

Our parent leaders are active in the community, and PLTI supports the ongoing completion of the community projects that start during the cohort or new initiatives that alumni are involved with in the community.

Community-wide Parent Education from our Alumni Parent Leaders.

PLTI utilizes its parent leaders and other community leaders to provide opportunities for learning for parents on various issues that impact children and families in our region. We are always seeking partnership for this work across the community.
